I am a child of the sun. Happiest when it’s summertime, when the days are long and the light is bright and pervading. Depending on its warm rays in the same way as I depend on fresh air to survive. The sun makes me happy, it makes me feel alive. The sun is the battery of the universe, giving me more energy than I could ever wish for, it’s the driving force behind all life on this planet. It fills me with love, it fills me until I cannot take it up anymore and the love starts to spill and overflow and gets transferred to everyone around me. The sun allows me to give more than I take, because I get all I need when I am wrapped in its warm, loving embrace. And most importantly, the sun is always there. It has been there for as long as I remember, and it will be there until the day I die. Even at night time, the sun shines on, it illuminates the moon, and on some other part of the world it makes people happy in the same way it made me happy when it was daytime at my spot on earth.
I am grateful that I get to experience these blissful summer days filled with laughter and joy. I am grateful to be one of the sun’s many children. And I am happier than ever now that a wonderful summer spent with friends and family lies past me and the prospect of spending another summer on the other side of earth lies ahead. It really feels like eternal summer and it is the biggest blessing.
